Andy's background and experience

Andy James - Performance Development Consulting Ltd

Andy is an experienced and talented organisational development professional. He combines excellent skills with a strong background in management and commercial roles. His approach is based on a strong commercial foundation, facilitating performance development through the use of real business challenges to provide a vehicle for learning.

Andy has particular interest and expertise in the development of high performance teams. He has used his experience to inform the development of the 5 Components of Team Performance model. This model provides the basis for his Team Performance Diagnostic tool.

Andy began his career with British Aerospace. He held a variety of commercial and project management roles, working on major export aircraft programmes. He was a member of a number of multi-function project teams launching new aircraft projects. He was also heavily involved in a number of major change programmes.

Andy moved to learning and development in 1994. He worked for 3 consultancies where he held a range of consultant, management and business development positions. He has worked in both the public and private sectors and internationally in Europe, USA and Singapore. He has been running Performance Development Consulting (pdc) since 2002.

Away from work Andy enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He also plays basketball (before his knees give up completely!), football (playing and coaching) and golf. He also loves hill-walking in the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands when other commitments allow. He is also a Trustee at St Mary’s Hospice in Ulverston.
